Sheree has lived in Tauranga almost her entire life. She calls the Bay of Plenty home and she knows its people and local community very well.
With a career spanning 13 years in the residential property management industry, Sheree can be counted as one of the most experienced property managers in the region. She set up Propertyscouts in 2016 to provide an exemplary service to her landlords and tenants that focuses on excellence and innovation.
Sheree, who has a Bachelor of Social Science majoring in human development and social policy, uses her depth of knowledge, empathy and experience of people to enhance her skills as an expert property manager. She’s passionate about leading people to achieve their goals, whether it be investing in property, adding a property to an existing portfolio or assisting a tenant to negotiate their way into a home for themselves and their family.
Sheree and Ben have two sons and live on a rural lifestyle block on the outskirts of Tauranga. From a large extended family, her friends and network of contacts are invaluable in helping her keep her finger on the pulse of the residential property market in the region. In her spare time Sheree loves pottering in her vegetable garden and when time permits, heading out of town towing the caravan exploring new spots around New Zealand with her family.
About the Company
Sheree and Ben launched Property Scouts in Tauranga in 2017 to provide peace of mind and make life easier for property owners and tenants. Sheree's dream was to deliver a small caring local property management service backed up by strong systems, a national network and superior marketing. Propertyscouts offered the agility of a boutique business with the robustness and strength of a nationwide organisation, so it made sense for Sheree to become part of the Propertyscouts family years ago. Ben has a background in the Tauranga construction industry and the couple have an avid interest in ‘all things property’. They have an all-inclusive team of fully screened and vetted maintenance contractors who are entrusted with the care of any property maintenance issues for their clients. The beauty of being a Propertyscouts Tauranga client is that they DO NOT charge additional fees for arranging maintenance at the properties they manage. They are also proud to back themselves with a peace of mind rental guarantee for fixed term tenancies.
Administration and Inspections
Shaye is our teams administrator, inspector, and Healthy Homes Expert. Shaye has been with Propertyscouts for nearly two years now and is the back bone to the company. Propertyscouts Landlords and tenants are getting to know Shaye well, as she is always ready to help, she is prompt in replying to emails and courteous to peoples needs. Shaye has great relations with our trades people, and making sure the communication between tenants and trades/maintenance people is clear, and the owners wishes for any work is adhered to.
Milton & Ryan Weir

Milton and Ryan Weir are the owners of Propertyscouts NZ (2020) Limited. Both have extensive knowledge of the property management industry. Milton has almost 40 years’ experience as a property investor and 20 years in various forms of property management. He co-founded the original Propertyscouts business in Dunedin and used its success as an initial ‘template’ to start the franchise system. Ryan (Milton’s son) has an extensive background in the banking industry as well as property management. In 2013 he co-founded the Auckland property management company Walker Weir. That company followed the original principals of Propertyscouts but also included some innovative strategies. In 2014 Ryan purchased his partner’s share of the business and continued to run the business until it was sold in 2020. At this time Ryan took the opportunity to start his own Propertyscouts franchise – Propertyscouts Auckland Metro and joined Milton as a co-owner of Propertyscouts HQ.
Milton and Ryan have a number of Propertyscouts franchise businesses operating throughout NZ and now also one in Queensland, Australia. Their aim is to make Propertyscouts the most trusted and well-known property management brand in NZ and hopefully one day Australia – well there’s no harm in aiming big! Although each franchise is a standalone business they operate using a proven set of property management templates. These templates are continuously evolving to ensure that the very highest standards of compliance and industry practice are maintained. On a yearly basis the franchises come together for additional training and the presentation of awards for exceptional service and performance. Milton is a member of PROMINZ (Property Managers Institute of NZ) and a past committee member. Ryan is presently a serving committee member.
PSHQ exists to provide ongoing support and guidance to the franchise business units. On the very rare occasion that any client (Landlord or Tenant) has a complaint to make about one of the franchises Milton and Ryan are happy to step in and investigate, as necessary.
